    Default Trading Platform and VPS

    Funyoo,
Do you or anyone here know if it's possible and if so, how to do it? Is it possible to move my entire MT4 platform from my desktop to my VPS? I have a few custom built EA's and one of the file tranfer programs will not let me transfer the custom indicators because the files are too small. I'm sure it would be easier to transfer my entire platform with all my programs and charts together intact. Can anyone help with this?
    Thanks in advance

You should probably access your broker through your VPS to download/install MT4 and then use teamviewer (FREE..... http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx ) to copy your EA's Scripts etc from your computer to the VPS... Hope that helps... If you're in EU check out IXBONE VPS...(Hi IX)...Good Luck Bill

Funyoo, I see at a time you are running mutiples EA's in one server. say in a typical Windows 2003 Enterprise Server
    • RAM: 512 MB
    • Storage: 10 GB
How many EA's are recommended to run concurrently?
Also I see we cannot run mutiple accounts / instance with one MT4 platform - broker. Do you use mutiple EA's in single account with different magic number is it??

    hi tradespin,

this depends on your used timeframes, indis, currencies and some global settings
-M1 charts needs more ram then D1 charts
-3 indis per chart needs more ram then no indis per chart
-volatile currencies needs more ram then low volatile currencies
-high settings bars in chart needs more ram
-high settings bars in history needs more ram

with the optimum lowest settings i suggest to use stable 7-10 mt4 apps
with the maximum highest settings i suggest max. 1-3 mt4 apps

Sometimes, if a mt4 apps can't catch additional ram, it tends to crash
Using of stategy tester is not recommened, because it uses always all available ram (for writing the tester log files)

    Hey PrinceOfPips,

You could also create a rar file to include all the files you want to transfer, and then just extract them inside your vps. If you don't have a suitable program to do this, 7 Zip is a free program that allows archiving.
