yes this is true, I guess if we had a time machine to see into the future then we would know for sure, but we don't, so we just have to trade with probabilities based on our own knowledge and experience and hope for the best.
Past results do not guarantee the same for the future, that is for you and me, just because something has not worked out for you does not mean it won't for me and others and vise versa.
It is a percentage sum game, someone wins, someone loses that is it
I would like to forward test RM on a $5000 live account before puting it on my main account. From those who have seen the best and worst of RM what lot size would you reconmend to trade both pairs on this size account.
I have been testing it on my VPS demo $5000 account with the balance factor set to the suggested $2000/$3500 but even though it has made profit, it has only been trading 0.02 lots at a time with profit takes of near $5....is this normal or should I increase my lot sizes.
Thanks sparkz,
I just wasn't sure if I had set it up right, I don't mind slow and steady.
My broker only allows the demo to run for a week so just not enough to see what the Draw Down can look like on those small lots and as I only had a few open orders it looked like it could move to the moon before it would hurt me if at all.
Goldmine haven't sent me the EA yet, I'm just making sure I'm ready to plug it in.![]()
I think that's the key, keep it small and don't get greedy!
Bob the developer has posted his 12 months results over at Forex Assistant. Considering we've been through some of the most turbulent trading times in recent times it's done remarkedly well.
I'll post my live results when I get some. I'm just considering whether to drop Alpari UK and go with GoMarkets. I haven't had a bad problem exactly with Alpari although I've had some large slippages. Just hear good things about GoMarkets.
Very very true - my demo account is in a 900 pip drawdown on the audnzd alone as we speak
Still thinking of buying it come September though - will give it another month to see if I can handle these open trades for weeks/months and high swap feesSome of the swap fees are higher than the profit I will make on the trade.
Hi,
No complaints so far with running this EA for nearly a month.
One question though....do the swap rates eventually kill this EA's return?
