Thread: mGRID_ver7.0

What I like about this martingale approach that v7 presents is that I can see the borders of the grid and they are reasonable and reachable. The feeling of being able to close all of the trades with the guaranteed win is a nice trick to play on ones phsyche.

It's the "getting there" that gets you!

    ES

P.S. Like all martingale systems..."If you have enough capital to survive then you can make a yield". I sure would like to define it, though. The exponential exposure while bobbing back and forth within this grid can grow rather large faster and faster, making for some uncomfortable moments even when starting out at 0.01.

has any one come up with some sets for the advisor yet, what seems to be working well? grid systems seem to make a bit of money if they are within a range but if they move out then there is a problem, i think that the stop loss in this case takes care of that but how is the testing of this moving along, i just started it with the default settings, comments please
    thank you

I respectfully suggest that you do not understand this system...a fast moving breakout type of trend is exactly what this martingale v.7 flourishes with and needs...

Consider the opposite problem compared with what you suggest....then you will understand v.7.

mGRID is like a set of old fashioned scales. A top side and a bottom side instead of a left and right side....when the direction goes up the exit is always a profit....when it goes down it is alway a profit...How can this be?....pyramided lotsizing grasshopper....

This is a clever martingale and at first glance many traders will not understand it. I have tried to explain it, but this is hard. Trade it for a while and you will see....but definitely use an IBFX mini account with 0.01...or you will get chopped up, unless you have 10K or more for the other dealers! disclaimer: It may be more than 1K or 10K...I still do not know for sure, but if I can make 30% per year that would be kewl....I wish I knew how much money I needed to deposit to IBFX. But maybe the movement of EUR/USD might cause too high of a initial balance to be needed thus the yield would be below 30%...then this system is trash! unless some coder adds a filter to it...

    johncr22,

Now how could I answer you? Think about it.....

Before I can answer...How much are your trading with and which dealer...also explain what .01 means to your dealer (how much value per pip?).

    ES

    P. S. I am using the default setting without any changes whatsoever...but here is the skinney...I use IBFX mini

    johncr322,

When testing with 10K...does this mean that you will go live with 10K if this passes your smell test? You should demo with what you plan on going live with, unless you are a career tester and not a trader.

If you have 10K in an IBFX mini you can try 0.10 lotsize...that would be the same thing as 0.01 with 1K....Use all the other settings in the opening post and do not change them until you understand this EA completely. I am finding that the default setting using the three levels at 20 pips and the 40 pip profit target suit me...but that is me...ask me next month and I may have a completely different set up...I do not really know what I am doing with this EA...

yes that is correct ibfx 10k account would not test it on different account $'s if i was not going to fund with that amount.
so to recap i looked back at the early post but cant quite figure out your set that you are using can you possibly make it a bit more clear.
    thanks

I use the default setting provided now...I did not change anything. In the beginning I tried a larger lotsize and discovered the error in my ways...
