    Funnyoo...

    I'm using v202, and even though it has a SL = 70, when it places pending trades the SL is 173.

    Why is it doing that?

    Hi Funyoo,

    what does reversesystem=false means?

    Does it mean it only trade in one direction only? will it able to place BUY and SELL depending on direction of trend?

    thanks

    For some reason, my demo account keeps trading but I havent got a single trade on the live account? Any restrictions built in?

    Hi sam ye,
    This is how understand it (may be miles off):-
    With reversesystem=false, the ea trades normally, as expected. ie buy on buy signals, sell on sell signals.
    If reversesystem=true, the ea trades opposite to signals. ie sell on buy signals & buy on sell signals.

    I think some programmers include it for when the market appears to catch on to the effect of an ea or group of ea's that are exploting an observed anomily/ edge.

    cheers bt2

    Hi verbtheory,
    Like your writeup for strategy tester & optimizing that I see around a few sites.

    I havent seen anything in the ea code to restrict it on live account.
    Is your live account the same size as your demo, ie both mini's or both standard.
    I set up an extra demo on FXDD & was sure I had selected mini like my other demo & live IBFX accounts.
    But when I had played with it a little, soon showed up that it was a standard account. Does however reach down to 0.01 size lots.

    cheers bt2

    thanks BT2. That make sense now. By the way, few of us having problem with SL being place at much larger pip eventhough we have set it up as 69 pips. The SL appear to be around 145-160 pips. Do you see the same problem with v2 or latest version?

    We are still waiting for someone who understand the code to peek if any anomaly in the code.

    cheers

    Hi Mac109 & Sam Ye2001,
    The SL is calculated from the current hi or low & margin & stoploss & a figure derived from iATR.
    For a buy, this is the code;
    SL=Low[i]
    -(MarginPips+StopLoss)*point
    -NormalizeDouble((iATR(NULL,0,14,1)/10)*0.5,digits);

    I added a temporary comment to see some figures on EURJPY,
    Showed up on screen as;
    MarginPips is 23
    StopLoss is 69
    iATR bit is 0.01
    for buy, Low at 137.8 SL is 136.87

    ie 137.8-0.23-0.69-0.01=136.87
    for a sell SL, the extra bits are all added to the hi.

    From the vForce area at ForexFactory, I think the theory for using the Margin bit is to cover the spread. But on my brokers (FXDD & IBFX) it should only be needed on buy trades. Margin also allows for a gap away from the ends of the previous bar.

    Been interesting digging around in the code. You guys should try it. I use Notepad to read/alter a copy of the ea. Learn a little at a time.

    cheers bt2

    Hi Funyoo

    I have been using v2.03 with great results using EURUSD H1 on my live acct. I get nervous when price is high and ea puts in a buystop above where "I" am comfortable. Is there a way to put in a filter that would look at week high and not put in entry if its close to it??
    thanks

    Default 5 Digits.

    Hey guys. I've just joined this thread by invitation from Hamy. You're doing a great job and I hope I can join in and add value.

    1st thing I think we can do easily is auto detect 4 or 5 digits. A simple change that would make life easier for a lot of people following this thread.

    Does anyone know how to make this change? If not I am happy to do it.
