Thread: Have 10 years data, but M5 only allows 1.5 year showing

Default Have 10 years data, but M5 only allows 1.5 year showing

I'm using Alpari UK, I have almost 10 years of backtesting data, but if I switch to 5 minute timeframe, and scroll back as far as I can, it will only show back about 1.5 years. Is there anything I can change in MT4 to show all the data? I've tried the "number of bars" setting on the chart, but that doesn't seem to help.

    thanks in advance.

    SP.

    1) Login your Alpari UK Trading Terminal, go to "Tools" -> "History Center"
    2) Select your desired pair, e.g. EURUSD
    3) Download the data for M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W, MN
    4) Backtest it again.

    Hope this helps.

    Default thanks

thanks for your detailed help, what it says it is,

"there is no new data for XXX, do you want to recalculate all timeframes?"

so it appears to have all data....i don't think backtesting is a problem, but often I'd like to scroll all the way back further than 1.5 years to see the actual price action.

    thanks again, SP.

When it prompts u with this msg

"there is no new data for XXX, do you want to recalculate all timeframes?"

    Click yes XD,

Do that for all timeframes, M1 M5 M15 M30 H1 H4 D1 W MN (Yea it can be a pain to click "Yes" all the time XD)

You should get a 90.00% if not 89.99% Modelling Quality once you're done with the backtest this time. 89.99% appears when you try to backtest from year 1999.

You can also try to edit Max bars in history and Max bars in charts to 999999999.

    To do so:
    1) Login your Alpari UK Trading Terminal
    2) Go to "Tools" -> "Options"
    3) Click on "Charts" Tab
    4) Type in "999999999" in the little textbox for "Max bars in history"
    5) Type in "999999999" in the little textbox for "Max bars in chart"
    6) Click "OK"
