    Thanks for your reply and explanations above.

    I would like to ask you as follows:

    1. According to pips results :

    - GBPJPY,
    - EURJPY,
    - EURGBP.

    + I agree with you that these 3 pairs have highest winning % and also winning pips.

    According to risk/ratio :

    - EURJPY,
    - EURUSD,
    - GBPUSD.

    + Eurjpy is the best pair from your forward-testing results.

    I noticed that Eurusd and Gbpusd has lower winning % and lower winning pips than Gbpjpy and Eurgbp.

    So, what do you mean by "Risk/Ratio" here on Eurusd and Gbpusd ?

    I don't quite understand about this. Please explain more clearly. Thanks a lot.

    2. Different tick data = different signals: How can we know which brokers that this Overflow Trader EA can trade with the most profits and lowest drawdown (I mean how to choose the best suitable broker for this EA?)? Please teach me some tricks/tips to find out about this important issue. Thanks a lot.

    I noticed that from yesterday until now, on FXCM UK, Overflow Trader EA made profit on buying Gbpjpy (closed profit trades = 5, and 1 very small loss), and still have rather huge floating loss on selling Eurjpy (8 floating losses as of now).

    But on Interbankfx, Overflow Trader EA made all winners on buying Eurjpy and eurgbp, but still have floating loss on selling Gbpjpy.

    So, with different tick data, but this EA made winning trades on 1 pair, and made losing trades (still opening, and don't know if it can close these floating losses into winners at the end or not) on another pair.

    It's really difficult to make decision which pairs should be traded on which brokers?

    3. Under these conditions the EA is not able to close or open some orders. I should probably add a check function: Yes, please kindly ADD THIS CHECK FUNCTION in the next version of Overflow Trader EA, and post it once you finish. Thanks a lot for your hard work. Highly appreciate it.

    Best regards,
    James Phuc
    Hi james_phuc28,

    1. On myfxbook : Monthly Analytics > Month > Reward : Risk Ratios

    2. The only way is to forward test the EA on different brokers. I would suggest you to only focus on the brokers that you are using for real trading.

    3. Oppositeclose rewritten.

    Dear Funyoo,

    Thanks for your information. This EA seems good when tested on several brokers. I am now trying to find suitable brokers that can provide suitable tick data to make this EA consistently profitable.

    By the way, in terms of Pips gain and Risk/Ratio, which one should I care much more about ?

    I can accept rather high max drawdown or relative drawdown (max drawdown can be as high as 20 to 30%), but what I need is more net profit in USD gain. So, should I consider choosing pips Gain or Risk/Ratio gain so that the account balance can be increased month after month?

    + Also, Maxtrade = 100 means that 100 trades as maximum. But this means that maximum 100 trades per day or per week or per month? I want to know when the cycle of max 100 trades will be finished, and another new batch of max 100 trades will be placed again. Please kindly explain this matter for my information. The reason is that if the account balance is not big (for example: 2000usd or 3000usd, and with 0.01 lot size starting, I need to check and see if in case max 100 trades are placed, if the margin level is still enough to sustain the market and high drawdown or not). If balance is not strong enough to sustain, I will reduce Maxtrade down to 10, or 20, or 30, or 50 to be suitable to my account balance when I want to use this EA on my live account next month.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi james_phuc28,

    Certainly Risk/Ratio.

    Maxtrade = 100 means maximum 100 trades simultaneously opened for the respective symbol and magic number.

    funyoo,

    OK, yes I love it, question, is there any way, or any way, or tool that give overall position ratios, or futures? that is the number of not just holdings, and a ratio of short/long, but some way to read total orders?

    OANDA FXLabs - FX Open Position Ratios

    http://fxlabs.oanda.com/cgi/fxlabs.p...ositionsratios

    the above is a good start, the data on the chart is awesome. Base a 4 hour swing tradeer on this????

    We need to find some way to use this 4-hour swing concept on actual or future data, not a reverse looking chart.

    Hi hunter6,

    For closed orders, you can use myfxbook.

    For open orders, you can use the attached indicator, then in the code, replace :

    Code:
    /*
       GlobalVariableSet("vGrafBalance",AccountBalance());
       GlobalVariableSet("vGrafEquity",AccountEquity());
    */
    With :

    Code:
       GlobalVariableSet("vGrafBalance",count(OP_BUY));
       GlobalVariableSet("vGrafEquity",count(OP_SELL));
    Attach the indicator to the chart, you will get long vs short.

    Hi Funyoo,

    This EA seems like great potential EA. I would like to ask you the following questions for my proper settings on this EA :

    1. If I want that after this EA make a winning of 50 pips (from entry price), then stop loss will be moved to a profit of + 5 pips, then, what should I set on Inputs?

    2. Then, if this winning trade continues to win to 100 pips, the EA will automatically lock in a profit of + 50 pips (it means it moves + 45 pips more), then, if the trade continues to win +150 pips, the EA will lock in + 100 pips profit.
    So, in summary, if the trade wins a new 50 pips profit, the EA, will automatically lock in 50 pips profit, and keep the distance between the current market price and the new stop loss at 50 pips distance to give the trade enough room to breathe, while it can maintain and protect new winning pips each time market moves a new 50 pips.

    Please make these options EXTERNAL on Input Parameters so that the user can adjust these pips lock according to their own trading style and risk tolerance.

    Could you please kindly re-code the Overflow Trader EA like this way. I think it can help to reduce the max drawdown, relative drawdown, and also reduce the floating loss of pips drastically, because I noticed that yesterday, this EA return all its winning pips back to market, and even became losers at the end.

    Thank you very much.

    James Phuc

    Funyoo, dude you are amazing. the speed you can crank this stuff out at. How hard is it to turn the long vs short into an EA? have you already done that somewhere in this forum? Seems to me like open orders, combined with open positions is the perfect ea, thoughts?

    Is anyone successfully using this EA, demo or live? I ask because I loaded it up on an IBFX demo three days ago and have yet to have a trade. I am using v1.01 on H4 with the set file provided by funyoo on the same 12 pairs that funyoo listed. I have no errors in my journal or experts tab and all seems to be running as it should, just with no trades. I can backtest on the same platform with no issues. I have also verified on funyoo's myfxbook page that he has had trades over the last few days, so I expected that I should as well. Any ideas?

    Hi edoughig,

    I know your problem. Just set ECN = True, and it will place trades very soon.

    I don't know why IBFX is now ECN Broker, but any EA that does not have ECN Compatible function can not place a single trade on IBFX recently.

    On IBFX, Please only use Eurjpy and Eurusd, and maybe Eurgbp, because these 3 pairs seem most profitable on this broker.

    Regards,
    James Phuc

    Thanks for the help. I can't check it right now, but I could have sworn I set the ECN to true. But, I will double check tonight. Thanks for the heads up on the pairs for this EA on IBFX as well.
