    Hope this thread doesn’t die - unless someone has already found a fatal flaw!

    Before making any observations I wanted to repeat TREND RIDER's test between 11th Jan and 4th Feb using Terminator v2 (modified) (thank you funyoo’s) and the modified set of parameters posted.

    OK given that mine was back tested on FXDD compared with forward tested on Alpari the difference of 513 short term trades and 2202.49 p/l (TREND RIDER) compared with 12 long trades and a p/l of 1,057.00 (mine) can’t just be down to those variables surely!

    These are my parameters:

    S0=---------------- What is our signal ?
    OpenOrdersBasedOn=5
    S1=---------------- I_Trend Settings
    Band_Period=10
    Band_Deviation=2
    Power_Period=6

    MaxTrades=10
    Pips=180
    MagicNumber=222777
    S7=---------------- Money Management

    AccountisNormal=0

    AccountProtection=1
    AllSymbolsProtect=0
    OrderstoProtect=3
    S8=---------------- Extras
    TimeZone=1
    Manual=0
    ReverseCondition=0

    I downloaded them from "terminator (modified) set". I assume these are what TREND RIDER used.

    So what's going on? I’m not well practised in strategy testing so any help would be gratefully received

    Thanks all.

    I DONT THINK ANYTHING IS WRONG.
    THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT HAS BEEN MADE BY YOUR TESTING i.e; PROFIT AND INCREASE TO ACCT.

    ON THE STRATEGY TESTING, DO THE FOLLOWING;
    1, CLICK TOOLS ON THE PLATFORM MENU,
    2, SELECT 'OPTIONS' FROM THE DROP-DOWN MENU,
    3, SELECT 'CHART' TAB,
    4, GO TO THE MAX.....IN BAR/CHART AND TYPE IN 9999999999999 TO THE MAXIMUM IN BOTH BOXES,
    5, CLICK ON OK.
    6, REPEAT STEP ONE,
    7, SELECT 'HISTORY CENTRE'
    8, DOUBLE-CLICK FOREX OR FOREX MAJOR DEPENDING ON YOUR PLATFORM.
    9, DOUBLE-CLICK YOUR PAIR,
    10, SELECT '1M',
    11, CLICK ON 'DOWNLOAD'.
    12, THIS MAY TAKE A LONG TIME 1H OR MORE, AT THE END CLICK ON CLOSE.

    BY THESE STEPS YOU WOULD HAVE SUCEEDED IN DOWNLOADING ENOUGH DATA FOR BACKTEST ON THAT PLATFORM.

    GOOD LUCK.

    Default What make it different from Martingale Stoch EA

    1, the need to show proof of any system you need funyoo to code EA, so I have been busy trying out different systems for possible coding.

    2, I gave up on testing new EAs due to the frequent failure of most tested EA. Especially the martigail-stoch ea. it grew an acct from 5k to 15k in 2 weeks and blew it up on fomc news last month. what a tragedy.

    But i have a little cheering news to share with respect to this EA terminator v2 both the original and th funyoo modified.

    Both EAs have done well trding for one month.

    The original is set on a more agressive setting, ie takes more trade with higher lots. while the modified is less agressive and set on small lots.
    Since the EAs hedge positions (doubles) when market starts to go against trade, i set it on a max trade no that the equity can carry. Else oppsite moves can wipe out acct.
    the original EA on fxpro hedge with only 5 trades ie 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8 and 1.6. it may carry drawdown for a while till market reverses.
    The Funyoo modified on alpari takes max 7 trades starting from 0.04 to 2.56.

    i have attached the set files along see for yourselves.

    Hi Trend Rider,
    What make this different from the Martingale Stochastic EA because both are using martingale strategy which will eventually blow up the account?

    they are similar but by experiment, terminator has a better close trade factor than martingle stoch,

    martingle stoct like all other martingle systems, will have to close each trade at set tp, but terminator will close all postion at oncesometimes in a marginal loss which helps to protect the acct.

    occassionally there is dd after taking the last trade and ea has to wait for reversal.
    if reversal do not come soon and there is no much equity, acct may be at risk of mc.

    yes you are correct,the modified version has blown the demo acct, while the original is still trading with dd sometimes.
