looks interesting...but most zigzag indicators look good in hindsite...you know what I mean?

I first identify an EA that I can work with and believe in... then I spend my time. This may be one of those EA's.

For pleasure I am trying...(I really enjoy this EA)

    TimeFrame1: 5
    ExtDepth1: 12
    ExtDeviation: 5
    Extbackstep1: 3

    TimeFrame1: 15
    ExtDepth1: 12
    ExtDeviation: 5
    Extbackstep1: 3

    TimeFrame1: 30
    ExtDepth1: 12
    ExtDeviation: 5
    Extbackstep1: 3

    Lots: 0.05 (I use a 1K IBFX mini account)
    RiskMM: false
    RiskPercent: 1.0

    Distance: 1
    StopLoss: 75
    TakeProfit: 75

The rest of the inputs are the defaults. (since we use a TP and a SL, you can open up the MaxOrders to 999, but it is not really necessary)

P.S. I have not tinkered with distance yet....but I am sure there is something to do with it to limit exposure on the laddered-type of new highs/lows that are being executed...
With your setting don't you think is better to attach this EA on TF 30M and wait for the bottom or down of the zig zag? When the order are in the right direction then we can manually control stop loss and take profit. Is only an idea.

Yes, but with right filter, it could be done.

sure...discretion could be used....but surely you could try it...but nobody trades the same so it is not necessary to post your statement...

I am experiencing banked profits and then I give them back.....the EA is netting 29 bucks on 1K, currently (three days of trading). IT FEELS WILD TO ME JUST NOW AND I WILL NEED TO SCALE BACK THE LOTSIZE TO FEEL COMFORTABLE, BUT FOR NOW I WILL LEAVE IT AT 0.05 (IBFX-MINI, 5 cents per pip with multiple orders).

This is set up real loose (NASCAR) but it is necessary for the EUR/USD....I will wait a little longer to see if a month of trading these settings give an upward sloping equity line in the graph (there will be jagged edges...but again this is set up loose to catch all of the anticipated trends while filtering out noise).

We shall see. DO NOT TRADE THIS LIVE....THIS IS JUST A TEST AND CAN FALL FLAT ON ITS FACE (again, I picked these settings out of the clear blue sky and have no idea if they will work...I think they will, based on what I know...but we must see what the market hands to us to see if any fine-tuning is necessary).

I am not sure, but I think there must be some error in the code, because it does not close or open deals from the opposite signal.

    Hi
Can somebody explain me simply, why zig-zag EA not can stop buy orders if sell order as true. Or i understand something wrong? If there is only one zig-zag, can then close open orders from the opposite signal?
    Sorry, bad english

    Hi funyoo,

When you have time please could you add the martingale, reverse system and trailingstop x-pips in profit coding. Thanks in advance.

    Cheers.

I think to make this ea profitable it needs to have two extra functions 1. close all orders when x profit is reached and 2. an adjustable martingale multiplier. That I believe would make things interesting!

    Smile Some added programing

    Hi Funyoo,
Thanks for the site, it is one of the best forex sites.
I like this EA and on my account I have 4 positions going long with about 180 pipe gain on the Eur/Usd. This EA then attempted to open a sell position but the trade was disabled by my broker because of the new NFA rules. I was thinking that I really would rather that this EA close the winning positions first and take the gain before opening the sell position.
Would it be possible to program this EA to close the open positions before opening any going in the opposite direction?
I think this would really improve the performance of this EA.
Thanks for your attention to this matter.
