Thread: The Donchian Scalper 1.0

    Default donchian sets

    FxTester:

You said "I would suggest you to try the reverse settings and the no reverse settings on the x best pairs (1-6 in the previous top) for timeframes under H4. You have to set a different magic number (for example magic=1234 for reverse and 4321 for no reverse). This should work the best on TF M30 (this one is followed by M15, M5, and H1). On the mid term, you will have less DD if you apply the reverse and no reverse sets."

So does this mean that by simultaneous running of both reverse and non-reverse versions, you are able to reduce RDD and DD ?

    Thanks !

Yes, it will reduce RDD and DD.

    Default Running Equity Variance

FxTester, thanks for your work here........Interesting results in the M5 reversing sets, I was wondering if you had mapped running equity in comparisons between the smaller to larger incremented time-series to see if variance had dropped between the tests ?

It appears (in forward testing) as I watch running equity off the various terminals on VPS that variance is reduced as trade frequency increases.......possibly a TP target set less than 10 could assist.......?

    Any thoughts ?

There is clearly less opened DD on H1 and H4, especially H4.

Yes, a smaller TP will certainly reduce the variance. I have not yet tested different values for this parameter.

    Default variance

In your .set files you are running the same parameter for ALL pairs ?

    Thanks !!!
