Hi Guys, I've been watching a Gartley develop on the gbpusd m30 today.
I thought it was finished and drew some cross lines to watch the price afterwards.. The Gartly then grew and the price carried on instead of reversing so I drew another cross to pinpoint that. It's grown again..
How do we know when it's finally finished and NOT going to grow again?

Hopefully the picture will explain better..
    thanks, Russ

You have just discovered the main issue with the Zig Zag indicator (This Gartley Algo is based off the Zig Zag) and that is that it reprints. The fact is is that w/o the MACD BB, we wouldn't know, so, we need something to confirm the reversal.

You have to be careful when those bands in the MACD BB are that far apart. You should wait until MACD BB confirms your style. Like 50 says, you can trade it aggressively, normal, or conservative. These 3 options in the EA will be GREAT! It will be one of the most dynamic EAs ever created. AND it's FREE!

    HA!

FWIW, The big boys' black boxes trade these.

Thanks for sharing your success Roberto. Be sure to look for MACD BB confirmation and you will never be wrong.

If you notice that it is near a pivot you can increase size.

    Russ-trader..

If u follow one of the 3 options in my earlier post you will see the macdbb told u when it was finished. Nobody knows when the gartley will finish forming..it could keep growing but as soon as the macdbb changes thats a sure sign that things are slowing down at least. You have just found the problem with lots of systems out there..how do u know when to trade it. The macdbb is the answer to that problem

Funyoo..Iam sure you will be very happy with the macdbb..everything else in the code like the momo counts and psar basically isnt needed..the gartley is brilliant and the macdbb works lovelly with patterns..so the 2 will work for sure..

Just something to think about guys..If you have a good entry system and get stuck with the exit..then you can use the macdbb mid-band cross on any system for your exit..it always means slowing down of the trend..so that should be the logical place to take profit..If you study it long enough you will see what i mean..

I have about ten currency pairs set up on 15 minutes and 30 minutes fo the Gartley AND BBMacD. You can't sit there staring at the screen all the time so until we can get an audio alert put on the Gartley and BBMacD indicators I found this "Time to Next Bar" indicator quite useful.

It very simply tells you how long until the next candle/bar. You can quickly flip through the currencies then to keep a check on what's occurring. You experienced guys might have it or something similar but maybe it could be useful for the more inexperienced..

    Red face

Just a question for 50pips to make sure I have this right

Stop loss should be placed just above the top of the candle/bar that the signal (when the dots pass the midpoint) is given on..

This was a short little candle and didn't give so much room for the market to manouvre properly. Is this still right or should a little discretion be used here..?

    thanks
