LOL, now you are rewriting the code. Remember, paralysis by analysis. Sure we can code it for pivots, but where does the madness stop? This is solid as is. I believe there is a lot in the EA that we do not need. However, with all these filters/options it really allows each trader to customize it to his risk tolerance and trading style. It's extremely versatile.

Maybe we can make the BB MACD settings a bit more sensitive. 50 doesn't like messing with the settings but I think it may be justified in the case of the Gartley EA.
Think of adversity as that tiny piece of sand that gets trapped in the oyster's shell. Although it's a pain in the oyster's arse, he eventually makes a pearl out of it.

yeah yeah i know bigp, prob a little extreme on the support/resistance request,
it's doing excellent as is except that we need the one trade per gartly signal coded into it, once that is done, it will be good

I'll leave the support request alone for the ea, however I took a manual buy trade on the 30min aud usd looking at gartley, bb and confirmed where price was according to the s/r pivot a got $ 293 to the good. just my personal trading style to look at s and r, everyones got their own style and its hard for me to get away from it

    PiP ON!

    Hi Guys,
I am new to this thread and enjoyed much reading about this EA and the strategy behind it. First of all: Thank you VERY much, BigP, for sharing this with us and Thank YOU very much, Funyoo, for all the time and effort youn put in for us!

I totally agree with the above said: as a matter of fact, I am running version 101 and 102 on DEMO since last evening and didnīt change a single thing in the default settings....and so far it has been doing great. I have a profit ofn 764 Euros and a positive floating of about 500 Euros.
The EA is set on 8 Pairs, trading 4 of them so far. It works like a basket system.....I donīt know, what triggers to close trades, but it does it with a nice profit....

Now: of course 1,5 days of trading with it do not say much....BUT, if it works like that...heck...why change anything?? Never touch a running system :-)

The more filters and options you add, the more difficult it becomes to find the "right" settings....as I said: I took it right out of the box...and it does well!

    Just to think about it.....mho...

Default Nominee for 2009 Best Thread Award

    Guys,

I've seen a lot of threads in my day but this one has truly won the 1st Place Blue Ribbon award (in my book anyway). Yes, I will be pitching in on the testing and posting results for this as well. Kudos to BigPipn for sharing and starting it, Funyoo for turning concepts into reality and all the rest of you guys for contributing. You guys are all awesome. Hopefully I can earn my wings here (and hopefully an invitation to BigPipn's yacht party too?).
