Anyone notice the huge news spike on the EURCHF H1 before the weekend?
This EA caught it. I'm up about 58 points on it

for those of you who are trying to backtest this beast some to get in the ballpark of a different range of profitable settings for times frames and profit levels, use control points for the model instead of every tick and it will help speed up backtesting quite a bit to help you look at more options to test on demo or live.

I'll post a couple set files later this weekend for ya'll to try out on foward testing this coming week

I personally know a quant who trades these for a very large fund.

    Default New Thread

    Good day to all,

this thread becomes bigger and bigger and also less cleary. So my proposal is to open a new thread, maybe with the headline " Optimization of Gartley EA". It would show a clear function and target we are now working on and the thread is better to read for new information.

    What do you think?

    Regards

    Criss

9hours later... I´ve read the whole thread now, downloaded all files, done research outside this forum about the other indicatrs and stuff mentioned, tried them all out separetly and together with old strategies, and testrun a quicky with the first version of the EA.
It has taken it´s time, but it looks to be worth it =).. Really good work here on the forum!

A thought, shouldn´t a confirmation be made, like, if any confirmation is true then take the trade, instead of manually choose what to confirm with. ie is signal of any indicators in the ea = 2 or more, then take the trade. or perhaps even if it is 3, then double the trade.. in that way, you can also build in other confirmatons in the future, and have it dynamic for pepoples way to trade, like the pivo/resistance idea.

Taking it a step further if more indicators are implemented, the count could be given a weightsetting per indicator. For example, Gartner is 10, macdbb is 7, Mumo is 5, cci is 5, and so on.. Take trade if value is 11 or more, double trade if value is 20 or more...

Also as Crissfx mentioned, perhaps an idea to start new threads, for beginners, for testing, for ideas and so on to have some structure? or perhaps that would make it harder to follow by the active ones of course?

hmm, if you have Trade once per signal set to true, it misses trades if macd gives the signal one bar too late =/.. And if you have it set to false it takes "too many" trades. Perhaps have some count on how many bars away to wait for the signal, and how many signals to listen to..?

now i really should go to sleep, its a new day already.. ;-)..
