    Also this EA is strange, when i run it in backtest, sometimes it places trades, and others i get nothing. SO far i have only been able to get it to work in backtest at times, but only in eurusd 5m!

    I found this in the code, looks like it works on 5m time frames but not higher!

    bool
    trade_allowed ()
    {
    if (!AnnsLoaded || !is_ok_period (PERIOD_M5))
    return (false);
    hmmm... you shouldn't be getting those errors now.

    You will need to optimize the EA before you can run it on any timeframe successfully

    are you using the H1 version??

    Yes i have tried 1h time frame and it does not place trades in backtest, so can not optimize. I have noticed it seems to work at times, but only on eurusd 5m, but it is a hit and miss. When i try say eurusd 1h i get no trades in backtest and i get that wrong time frame message, so unable to optimize!

    Also kneal could you give me an idea what period you are optimizing both the nuro net type bots, this one and the FANN ea one. I have found that the results are not the best when you try to optimize greater than say 12 months!

    I am putting more effort into the other FANN EA. This EA NeuroMACD-fixed v1.02 H1.mq4 is taking too much to optimize

    I am optimizing for the past 12 months as stated by coder on 1H time frame

    Ok thanks yes that works on eurusd 1h. But still having the same issue when trying to backtest. Sometimes it places trades and others times it does not. When i run the backtest the first time using default settings it placed trades, when i ran it again, no trades at all and so fourth.

    So not really sure what to do there. Also what period are you optimizing for and how often.

    Ok yes probably a good idea to work on the other FANN EA more, at least that one work very well for me

    I am optimizing on 1H period but no longer with this EA, only with the other FANN EA. Optimize for 12 months and every weekend or every 2 weeks. Right now I'm in forward testing with the FANN EA and am also waiting for Funyoo to make updates to it. In testing phase but looks promising

    Yes i have found that 12 months is a good period to optimize on, but was not sure about how often to optimize it.

    I hope funyoo can update the FANN EA with your request. I think it certainly will improve the performace. I have noticed with FANN the TP is equal to the SL, which I assume is what the X part is all about. That is why i also want to test two version on the FANN EA like you, the one with the TP and the one without to give an idea on what works best.

    Trailing stop, breakeven is something i think is needed, you notice there is a lot of time when we see the trade go from a good winner to a loser, i guess we need to avoid seeing that happen to often!

    yes... that is what we are striving for. I have created a version where I can optimize the RSI as well but I need to ask Funyoo what the entry rules are for the FANN EA. I'm not sure if it is the RSI that triggers it
