    Default Volume Average

An interesting indicator that will help you to determine if you are in a ranging market or not.

With a factor in percentage for the "large average".

Hi Funyoo. I'm a new registered member and I go by 'SwingTrader'. I just read and view your comments on 'Volume Average'. first of all what is Volume Average and there is a great difference from your first view to the third. How do you use it? I can see where on the first one, there are indication where the chart took off and then back down and how the Volume Average indicated that. but how exactly do you use it and thanks.

    Hi SwingTrader,

    Welcome!

This indicator shows the evolution of the volumes (that you can get with Ctrl+L or with the volumes indicator on the Metatrader terminal) bar after bar (the curve in Lime), then the evolution of the average of the volumes on 5 periods (in LimeGreen, it is calculated each time with the last 5 bars), and finally in green the average of the volumes on 50 periods (calculated each time with the last 50 bars).

As you know, it is not advised to trade during the periods where there is low volumes. Some traders like to call this the grass, and when they don't see the grass, they stop their trading.

This is the goal of this indicator, it will indicate to you where the grass is low (volume average 5 under volume average 50). And you will be able to determine what is "low" for you with the "BignPeriodFactor" option.

It simplifies the visualization of the volumes.
