Thread: Any forex brokers accepting US citizens yet?

This new NFA rule requiring brokers in the US to drop their leverages down to 100:1 has really messed me up. If I had a lot of money, maybe it wouldn't matter. So I've contacted a few brokers outside of the US and I keep hitting a brick wall. Does anyone know a broker that is accepting US citizens as customers... and hopefully supports MT4 and has at least 400:1 leverage. Yes i live in Australia and my broker that i use is now accepting US people. But there max leverage is 300 :1. They only use MT4!

BaroxFX.com has 200/1 leverage. I believe they will accept US citizens.

FX Open has 500:1 but only up to 25k. I use them on a 20k account and every 4k profit I do a internal transfer for 4k and keep on trading.

I am from the US and I trade with Forex-Metal broker. They have 1:200 to 1:500 leverage and have Metatrader platform, seems to meet your requirements.

Just a quick remark, since it is not required to fund your account before you open a real account I went ahead and opened a real account but I haven't funded the account yet but as soon as I logged in to the real account I found very wide spreads much different than their demo account. Right now it looks like they closed with a spread of 3.9 pips on the EUR/USD pair which I find quite high. I went over to other forums to find more information and it seems to be a real problem for some traders! Because I don't live in Australia I was wondering how much they charge to withdraw money and get it wired overseas, I know some brokers really get you on this one and the funny part is my bank doesn't even charge anything for me to wire money overseas so it can't be very expensive for them to do it.

Since my post last January 2010, I've done some research, Looked at Forex Peace Army and basically checked out some brokers.

I'm not going to bad mouth any brokers or anything, but I've opened several accounts outside of the U.S. The two brokers that I've settled with thus far are Gomarkets in Australia and FxOpen in egypt.

GoMarkets offers 500:1 leverage up to 10k. I forgot what the max is for the 300:1 account. I've got a great rep there who is always available. He calls me about once a month to make sure everything is going good and to see if there is anything he can help me with. Every now and then, while trading, the connection will die for a few moments, but it always comes right back up, no big deal. but they are straight up about the work they are doing on their servers by sending messages through the MT4 mailbox. So I appreciate the honesty. You can trade down to 0.01 lots and that's what I really like about them and I didn't find this with any other brokers. I am glad another person recommended them on this forum because I'm very pleased with them. Also, international wires go through exceptionally fast with this company.

FxOpen has done very well too. The responses on the forums and the email responses have been very timely (as with Gomarkets as well) I've only tried calling them once and I got through ok, had a hard time understanding the lady, But I called during off hours. Luckily, I haven't had any urgent issues and I was just calling to tell my friends I called Egypt lol. Their website is the best I've seen. Its very easy to open additional accounts and to manage withdrawals and deposits. Connections have been great. I use an ECN account with them minimum deposit for that is 1k. they also have 500:1 leverage. Also, thank you to another poster on this forum for recommending them as well. The wires seem to take about a week to get through when using the secondary wire account which my bank only wants to use, but the patience is worth it IMHO.

I'm still with both brokers and have made some pretty good profits. So this is where I'm at now. I figured it would be the proper thing to update everyone on my progress since I received the advice on this forum. Good luck trading everyone.
