Alpari UK is now an ECN broker.

Alpari (UK) announces the introduction of Straight-Through Processing to MetaTrader 4 with Non-Dealing Desk execution, best pricing from 10+ top-tier banks and competitive trading terms.

The problem now is that the new demo accounts have spreads from 0 pips whatever is the deposit amount and are no more relevant for traders that use micro and classic accounts...

Same issue with backtesting. You have to use a real account otherwise you will have a backtesting with a very low spread that doesn't exist on these micro and classic accounts, but only on the pro accounts (20k$ min).

Maybe they intend to make micro and classic ecn too (!?).

I just started demo testing the Alpari UK MT4 on someone in heres recommendation. So far it's definitely better than my live account with a different broker, mainly with the lower average spread.

I have also started using the strategy tester on their platform to see how the results differ from the other brokers. So far the results are slightly better, which again I think the tighter spreads are to blame.

I do have a question however... when backtesting with an ecn, is the spread accurate at the times the ea executes a trade? Or is the backtesting set-up/manipulated to have a fixed (or lower) spread? I also wonder, when backtesting, if requotes are eliminated, therefore not simulating exactly what would of happened. Any thoughts?

personal i think 20k$ for an pro trader is not to much, if you'll have stable profits month by month, without wasting serveral small accounts in a year.

calc: if you earn stable 10% profit monthly = 2k / month

i think also in 1-2 years, the 1:500 leverage will be end, starting new eu regulations, then we have max 1:100, in 5 years we have 1:1 in ten years 2:1 and no more greenbacks as world currency, take a closer look at yuan...
this all should help the world to survive next crisis, like creditcard, power,...

That's right, these new accounts are welcome. I just hope that they will propose fair demo accounts with correct spreads (depending on account type or deposit amounts) in the future.

Hi 2+2=4ex,

That's correct. That's why we can not get 100% of modeling quality, a spread and requote history would require several terabytes, the technology is not yet ready.

Hey guys, sorry to bump an older thread but I think it fits quite well.
Do you know anything about the real spread at Alpari compared to other ECN broker?
I've been trading at 4XP, switched to FXOpen (both with ECn accounts of course) and would like to know how expensive Alpari would be.
