Thread: Volatility Filter

    Default Volatility Filter

    Hi Funyoo,

I need another lesson from you....
How we can create a filter for the EA to not open a trade when the price is ticking very fast (or jumping)? Is it called Volatility filter?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best Regards,
    Jdk

One way might be to use the range of a M1 price bar.

The range is the high of a bar minus the low of that bar.

So you could compare the range of the current M1 bar against the range of a recent M5 or M15 bar. You would insert this comparison soon into the start() function and, if it were more than a certain percentage of the M5 or M15 bar, you could just get the EA to loop around until the range decreased.
