Thread: EA to pull M1 data from your broker

Default EA to pull M1 data from your broker

Has anyone seen an EA that downloads historical M1 data from your brokerís server to your MT4 terminal? I have heard that such an EA exists but have not found it. It would certainly be a handy EA to keep your MT4 terminal up to date for back testing purposes. I have heard that the EA runs on one chart but updates the data for all available charts. Would be totally cool !!

    Hi Telac,

I don't see the interest of a such EA. The platform already does it itself.

As far as I know the platform only does this if all the charts are open and it is online 24/7 - I think at times there can be serious holes in the data if this has not been done. I don't think the platform downloads all the historical data that is available on the server by simply being online - I could be wrong?

The platform is automatically updating all the pairs data. But you are right, it is often advised to open the chart of all the pairs required by an EA, especially if the code works with the current tick.
