i ran the same EA with the same setting over the period july 2004 -> Jan 2008. (up to the start of your testing)

it obviously needs exactly the correct setting to prove profitable. on backtesting these can be determined; but forward testing moving into an unknown market the EA might struggle i think.

same set up you used. testing from july 04 to july 08 on the euro.

you can see from trade 630 onward in the 08 period which the EA was optimised for showed much better results then the previous 3.5 years which had not been optimised.
