    Default Funyoo....A question about BasketLoss

    Hi Funyoo,

First of all, I have to say THANKS for all the great contributions to the Forex community. There are some really good and productive ideas and methods on this forum. Keep up the good work.

I have been testing a few of the EAs you have posted and I have a couple of requests/suggestions. I was wondering if it might be possible for you to modify your BasketLoss parameters by adding one which would allow one to specify the maximum loss as a percentage of the winning trades. This would be similar to a trailing stop but based on any accumulated wins instead of the equity. How does that sound?

Also, in addition to allowing "x" trades/bar, it would be really good if we could have an external parameter to change that limitation. Meaning, if I wanted a maximum of one trade every "x" bars I would be able to do so. There are occasions when I want the EA to open more than one trade but I want them spaced.

Lastly, whenever you update an EA, what do you think about posting the modification to the first post always?

Let me know what you think of these suggestions.

    Regards,

    Hi Goingforward,

These otpions are not often used and it is better to limit the number of trades by some market conditions. But I will think about it.

    Thank you for your response.

I know that these options are not often used. However, based on testing of your EAs, as you know, they will open positions for each successive bar based on the maximum number of orders. On the other hand, if you had MaxOrders=5 and the EA could spread those orders over 10 or 15 bars, it could limit losses if you had the CloseAtOpposite=true option enabled.

Then, assuming you had a starting balance of $10K and you accumulated $300 (30%) in gains, if I used the basket equity loss approach, I would have to place the loss below the known equity at the time ($10K). But, if I could limit the losses to, say 50% of the gains, then the orders would be closed when the total equity reached $10,150.

I hope you have the ability to generate these options.

Attached is a backtest I did with your RSI Power Maximum EA. I would be interested in knowing how others have done with it so far...
