Thread: Electric Hydrofoil sold to municipalities

It's a great concept, but a few things I don't really like. #1 It looks tight and claustrophobic in there. You have to be sitting, and why isn't it more spacious? Normal boats you can walk around, fit 7 people, more comfort. That one looks like you are stuck. #2 It's also quite slow. It has a top speed of no more than 25 mph (40 kph). Most boats with a nice 150 or 250 hp motor can do closer to 40 mph (64 kph), sometimes more.
-- One thing I do like, price. It has a base price of about $19,000 US, which isn't that bad for new technology. Still a lot of money for what you get, but normally innovative new techs are many times what they are worth.
